school ended so much earlier today. leaving me with a bundle of energy to waste at home. okay. there's alot of stuffs to study.

im so not gonna think that i'll fail HAP. i don't want to. & hopefully, i wont. man. im trying really hard to get all those funny funny words into my head, along with their funny funny functions which almost link up to every other cells/tissues together like one big web -.- God, help me.

i really dont feel like hating HAP.

was switching on the com and waiting for it load just now, & i happened to notice my quiet time book,"our journey: a daily walk in the word", on the table. the book is actually dated back to Jun-Aug2006 but since im waiting, might as well just take & read awhile. so, i took & flipped to one of the pages. & this title, on my first flip, caught my attention.

do a 180

My prayer-life is not what it ought to be. I can make all the excuses I want. But the bottom line is, I have the attention span of a third-grader, and my work ethic tells me that time spent sitting still is time wasted.

That's why I was encouraged to hear some realistic talk about prayer from a youth leader. His name was Ric Garland (it probably still is), and he made this audacious statement:
"If you're having trouble with your prayer-life, you need to commit to praying 3 minutes a day-everyday!"

That's absurd! Only 3 minutes?

Ric leaned towards us and spoke slowly so we wouldn't miss anything. "If you can pray 3 minutes a day, everyday, your life will change dramatically."

I thought long and hard about that. Three minutes of real conversation wth God. One hundred and eighty seconds of honesty
with Him. Honesty about my struggles with prayer, pride and self-sufficiency. Honesty about my apprehensions over the coming day. Then prayer for my friends, family, even(especially) enemies. And finally, complete reliance on Him to be everything
I need today.

Perhaps you've seen the T-shirt with a picture of a guy on his knees in prayer. The caption reads: "Make War on the Floor." That sums up what Paul was telling us in Ephesians 6. The Christian life is a war (v. 10-12). And prayer is a crucial part of waging that war. (v.18)

If you can pray for an hour at a time, I envy you. I can't do that. But, there's a lesson I've learned from distance running. Actually running a 5K is a lot better than talking about running a marathon.
A realistic goal, when put into practice, yields real results.

Don't accept defeat over a poor prayer-life. But don't make unrealistic promises about how you will change your prayer habits either. Give God 180 seconds of your time now. That's real. That's attainable.
One hundred eighty seconds of honesty with God may be all it takes for your life to do a
180.
